Home Alive Documentary Launched our Kickstarter and Trailer today!

As a senior preparing for graduation, my friend and I have begun working on a wonderful senior project. Through a class we took together at the University of Washington in Seattle, we were exposed to a grassroots, self-defense organization called Home Alive. The organization was founded by nine women in response to the brutal rape and murder of Mia Zapata. To some she was a friend, a mentor, and to others she was the lead singer of the influence punk band The Gits. Home Alive began in 1993 and experienced many changes: from becoming a non-profit to gaining international attention with a CD, and finally relinquishing their non-profit status in 2010. 
In order to properly tell this story, we need to conduct interviews that require out of state travel. We also need the funds for film festival submissions and any unforeseen equipment costs.
